Design Notes / Story Behind the Design

Inspired by the big open skies that stretch across the Norfolk coastline, this print captures the scattered stars against a soft, expansive backdrop. Each star was carved by hand in our studio as a lino‑cut, giving the pattern its subtle irregularities and gentle, crafted character. The result is a calm, uplifting design that brings a sense of space and light into any room.

The pattern is reversible, giving you complete flexibility in how you use it — perfect for lampshades, both lamp base and ceiling pendant where a consistent, versatile pattern is essential. Suitable for bedrooms, living rooms, hallways and open‑plan areas.

Craftsmanship

Based on my original hand-carved lino print artwork, this design keeps the subtle texture and character of a handmade print. Digital printing gives crisp detail while preserving the artisanal feel. As each piece is crafted individually, pattern placement and colour may vary slightly.

Each lampshade is handmade in our Norfolk studio using premium cotton-linen that diffuses light beautifully. Printed in small batches and made to order, every shade is crafted with care. For the closest match in colour and finish, we recommend ordering lampshades in pairs or sets.
